Tour of Dublin's Bridges
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Heuston Station to start this tour of Dublin's bridges and learn lots of interesting facts about these constructions!
The River Liffey is an important part of life in Dublin with many of the capital's monuments and attractions located along its banks. As we follow the river, we'll see emblematic places such as the Customs House, the Guinness Brewery, the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the Temple Bar district, and the Supreme Court of Ireland.
During the tour, we'll come across a total of 18 bridges, and all of them have an interesting story to tell. We'll discover when they were built, which architects are behind these works, and why they were built. We'll learn about the famous engineer Bindon Blood Stoney and analyze his links, not only with Ireland, but also Spain.
Who were the main patrons of the Dublin bridges? Did you know that the Spaniard Santiago Calatrava designed two of these constructions? What role did the Vikings play in the River Liffey? Architecture, history, and curiosities await!
After a 4-hour tour, we'll say our goodbyes in the Silicon Docks area.
