The Cliffs of Moher stand face to face with the rage of the Atlantic, making this a raw, unforgiving landscape that nonetheless is known for its stunning beauty. So much so that it's become the most popular tourist attraction in Ireland!
This tour heads from Dublin on Ireland's east coast, to the Cliffs of Moher on the west, crossing the breadth of the country. We take in the pastoral Celtic landscape, learning about the history and myths of the country on the way, passing Kilmacduagh Monastery, dating from the early 7th century and the Wild Atlantic Way: 2,500 km of raw coastal road which take us into the Burren National Park.
Then onto the star attraction: the Cliffs of Moher themselves. At 214 metres tall (702 feet) and 14 km long (nearly 9 miles), on a clear day, you can see the see the Aran Islands, the Maumturks and Twelve Pins mountain ranges to the north in County Galway. We'll take part in the 'Ledge Experience' in the visitors centre you will be given free time to explore the stunning landscape, and to take in the variety of flora and fauna on the Irish west coast.
Then on the way back we stop in Galway, a charming city filled with cobbles, castles and buskers, which still retains its old world charm despite rapid expansion during the 1990s. Did you know that Christopher Columbus once stopped in Galway?!
The tour arrives back in Dublin between 7:30 and 8:30 pm.
