Discover the rugged beauty of western Ireland on this day trip to the Cliffs of Moher from Dublin and enjoy a boat trip along the wild Atlantic coast.
Cliffs of Moher & Boat Trip
Having met up at 7:15 am by the Statue of Molly Malone on Suffolk Street, we'll board a comfortable coach and leave Dublin behind, heading west towards the Cliffs of Moher. During the drive across the breadth of the country, we'll get to see the charming villages and verdant landscapes of Ireland.
From April to October, on arrival at the coast, we'll embark on a boat cruise alongside the Cliffs of Moher for a unique perspective on these spectacular natural rock formations. Throughout the rest of the year, or if the boat trip is cancelled during these months, we'll visit the famous Aillwee Caves instead. Located beneath The Burren, this is one of the most impressive cave systems in Ireland, and we'll get to explore its fascinating geological structures and underground waterfalls with our guide.
We'll also explore The Burren itself. This rugged karst landscape is home to historic structures like the medieval Caherconnell Stone Fort, and Poulnabrone Dolmen, a Neolithic tomb that dates back 5000 years.
It will then be time for lunch, and we'll make our way to Doolin, a picturesque coastal village renowned for its traditional Irish music. We normally make a stop at Fitzpatrick’s Pub, where you'll have time to get food - the seafood is particularly delicious!
After eating, we'll stroll to the cliff tops for unparalleled views of the Cliffs of Moher. You'll have access to the Visitors' Centre, where you can learn all about the history, nature and geology of this beautiful area of western Ireland. You'll soon realise why this is the country's most popular natural site!
At the end of an unforgettable day exploring the Cliffs of Moher, we'll make the return journey to Dublin, where you'll be dropped off on Dame Street at around 7:45 pm.
