  • English English
  • 7 hours

Found on a peninsula, the fishing village of Howth has amazing cultural and natural heritage. Enjoy its stunning landscapes on this train tour from Dublin.

Itinerary

The tour meets in Barnardo Square, in front of the Dublin Town Hall. From there we'll make our way on foot to Conolly Station to take a train to Howth, 24 minutes away.

Once there we'll take a walking tour through the historic centre, visiting the outside of the castle, a medieval castle which is one of the settings in Finnegans Wake, the James Joyce novel.

Having learnt some of the legends surrounding Howth Castle we'll move towards the Martello Tower viewpoint. From here we can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding coast

Here you'll have an hour free to have lunch, and try some of the fish dishes from the region, famous throughout Ireland! And after eating we'll head to the coast to see the two best known attractions in the area: the Baily Lighthouse and the Howth cliffs.

The tour finishes at the Howth train station, where we'll take the train back to Dublin.

Important Information

The tour is free for children under 13, who only have to pay for the tickets for the train (approx. €5)
