Feel the authentic Irish spirit in the picturesque city of Cork. On this day tour, you will also learn about the medieval legends which surround Cahir Castle and Rock of Cashel.
From the center of Dublin, we will head to the south of Ireland. Our first stop is at one of the most important forts on the ‘Emerald Isle’ - Cahir Castle. We will visit its interior to find out in more detail what life was like for Irish nobility in the 22nd century, on constant alert for the possible Viking invasion.
We will continue our excursion in Cork, the second most populated city in Ireland. In the historic center, on the banks of the river Lee, you will encounter famous monuments such as the Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral. Its spires are visible from almost every point in the city!
You will have your own free time in Cork to take a walk around its lively shopping area and have some lunch. We recommend you look around the English Market which is so renowned that they have even been visited by England´s Queen Elizabeth II.
In the afternoon, we will meet up again in the center of Cork to continue to the next stop at the Rock of Cashel. This site has a set of medieval buildings - a cathedral, a tower, a chapel, and an ancient palace, among other monuments. A genuine slice of Irish history is preserved here.
After visiting the Rock of Cashel we will return to Dublin.
